When a project calls for a sealed, dot-free strip that can be cut almost anywhere, this IP67 free-cut COB is what I specify. The 8mm board carries 528 LEDs per meter at 12W/m on 24V DC, and the whole emitting face is encapsulated in silicone to IP67, so it survives damp and dusty locations without showing the dotted hotspots you get from ordinary SMD tape.
On a normal strip you can only cut at fixed pads, often every 50 or 100mm. This board is built with a dense, segmented conductor layout so the cut points are much closer together — you can trim it to nearly the exact length a fixture needs without leaving dead sections. The silicone extrusion keeps the light uniform and protects the board, and at 12W/m it runs cool even inside sealed channels.

The free-cut segments are much closer than standard strips (typically around every 20–25mm), so you can match most fixture lengths. Always cut on the marked lines.
IP67 means it handles temporary immersion and direct water contact, but for permanent underwater use choose an IP68-rated product and sealed connectors.
Cutting at the marked points is intended and doesn't void it, provided cut ends are properly sealed for the environment.
