What Is a 48V COB LED Strip?

A 48V COB LED strip mounts hundreds of diodes directly on a continuous phosphor layer, so there are no visible LED dots, just a smooth, seamless line of light. Running at 48V instead of 12/24V sharply reduces current and voltage drop, which lets a single feed power runs of 100 metres or more without the brightness fading toward the end or needing frequent power injection.

FAQ

How far can a 48V COB strip run on one feed?

In most layouts 100 metres or more with no visible dimming. The exact length depends on W/m, wire gauge and tolerance; very long runs still benefit from a mid or end feed.

Is 48V safer than 24V?

Both are SELV low voltage and safe to touch. 48V carries lower current for the same power, which cuts voltage drop and heat in the wiring over long distances.

Do I still need power injection?

Far less often than with 24V strip. For runs beyond the rated length or very high density RGBW, add a feed at the far end to keep brightness perfectly even.
