Driver = total LED wattage x 1.2 derating. Match voltage (12V/24V). Get UL or CE certified. Do not skimp on the driver. It is the #1 point of failure.

The Three Rules of Driver Selection
Rule 1: Size at 120% of total wattage. A 100W load needs a 120W driver. Running at 100% kills the driver in 2 years.
Rule 2: Match the voltage. 12V strip needs 12V driver. 24V strip needs 24V driver. Mismatch destroys the strip.
Rule 3: Buy certified. UL for US, CE for EU. No-name drivers overheat and fail.
| Load | Driver Needed | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 60W | 75-100W | 5m of 12W/m strip |
| 100W | 120-150W | 5m of 20W/m strip |
| 200W | 240-300W | 10m of 20W/m strip |

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a bigger driver than needed?
Yes, and you should. A 200W driver running at 100W lasts longer than a 100W driver at 100W. The 20% headroom is the key.
